Amanda Kitik is a baroque oboist from Montréal, Canada. She has recently relocated to Zürich, Switzerland to pursue post-graduate studies in Early Music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.  She holds both a Bachelor of Music in oboe performance and a Master of Music in early music performance from the Schulich School of Music of McGill University. 
 
During her career in Canada, she performed regularly with orchestras and festivals in Montréal including Orchestre Baroque Arion, Ensemble Caprice, le studio de musique ancienne de Montreal, Pallade Musica, l'Orchestre Galileo, Festival Classica, Festival Montreal Baroque, and Festival Bach Montreal. She often collaborated with ensembles across Canada including Rosa Barroca in Calgary and the Ottawa Baroque Consort and Ottawa Bach Choir. She has been featured in chamber music projects and recordings by Les Méandres Baroque and the Mount Parnassus Foundation and has been selected for numerous young artist festivals throughout North America including the American Bach Soloists Academy, the Berwick Academy, the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, and Early Music America’s Young Performer’s Festival. 

Amanda is a passionate educator and arts administrator and has worked with organizations including the Mount Royal Youth Orchestra, Allegra Chamber Music, and Bach Before Bedtime. She has taught at several secondary school level programs in Montreal and maintains a private studio of oboe students.

Teaching

I have had the pleasure of working with both modern oboe and baroque oboe students of all ages and levels. Whether you're a complete beginner, advanced student, or looking to start playing again after years away, I would love to meet you and discuss your goals. 

Lessons are offered virtually or at your home in Zürich / Basel Switzerland. 

Oboe Lessons

Lessons for oboe or baroque oboe are available at flexible lengths with a curriculum tailored to the student's level and goals including topics such as audition/exam preparation, technique, repertoire, and reed making. Lessons can be scheduled weekly / bi-weekly / or ad hoc.
